Nature and Culture

We are jealous guardians of the environment
and biodiversity, faithful to tradition but with
an eye on innovation

The i Pucci farm is located in a flat area in the municipality of Catanzaro, in the strip of land

that joins the coast of the Gulf of Squillace, in the Ionian Sea, to that of the Gulf of Sant'Eufemia,

in the Tyrrhenian Sea, at the narrowest point of the entire Italian peninsula.

To the north are the Sila mountains and to the south the Calabrian Serre. The farm is only

a couple of kilometres from the Ionian Sea and about 30 from the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The climate is typically Mediterranean, temperate and rather windy, especially in the spring

and autumn months. Even in winter, the climate is quite mild because we are sheltered from

the cold winds and, in summer, the cool breeze coming from the sea mitigates the high daytime temperatures of June, July, August and sometimes even September, with good temperature

ranges between day and night.

Our philosophy

The soil, which is characterised by its compact, strong, fertile and lush fabric, is treated

regularly by experienced staff with state-of-the-art equipment to ensure proper water

drainage and root development.

This is the philosophy that has always marked the life of the company that has belonged to

the Pucci family for more than sixty years. A company in continuous evolution. Equipped in

the 1960s with 3,000 m2 of agricultural greenhouses for the production of flowers destined for international markets, a henhouse for over 16,000 laying hens (now converted into a warehouse) and a stable for dairy cows, in recent years the business has been concentrated on specific sectors, with products such as extra virgin olive oil, lemons, orange blossom and eucalyptus honey, and fruit and vegetables, products that have quickly established themselves on the

market for their qualities.

The production of electricity from renewable sources (photovoltaics on the roofs of the chicken coop and on one of the greenhouses) not only supports the farm economically, but also provides it with clean energy, necessary for lighting and for the operation of two spring water wells

that draw up to sixty metres to irrigate the crops.

An oasis
of green

with numerous cultivated species

Roses, peonies, geraniums, lavender, camellias,

jasmine, agapanthus, daisies, rosemary, laurel, papyrus are lovingly cultivated on our farm; a belt of magnolias, also oblate, and then cikas, palms, cypresses, cedars

of Lebanon, firs and centuries-old oaks create a unique natural setting, protecting the numerous citrus trees (several varieties of lemons, oranges, mandarins,

citrons, bergamot lemons, grapefruits and maples)

and the mostly centuries-old olive trees from the wind.

Among the lemon trees, especially the lemons of the Verna cultivar, are covered by a special,
very dense white net, which, while allowing the sun's rays to pass through, protects the plants from heavy rain, dryness and insects.
The orange blossom flowers of the many citrus trees provide excellent nectar for the bees,
which produce one of the most popular orange blossom honeys among connoisseurs and
a eucalyptus honey, particularly sought after for its therapeutic properties for the respiratory tract. The olive trees of the 'Carolea' cultivar, brought to this area of Calabria by the ancient Greeks, produce an excellent extra virgin olive oil that is yellow with green hues, medium fruity, with hints of apple, almond, artichoke and nuances of bitter, spicy and herbaceous, with low acidity. In the fruit and vegetable sector, the company markets numerous varieties of green beans, borlotti beans, courgettes and artichokes.
